HTC Tattoo: Will Resistive screen kill this budget phone?
filed in Ecosystem Android, Mobile Productivity on Sep.19, 2009
Much have been made about HTC marketing HTC Tattoo in the budget line but i seriously do not think it will be drastically cheaper.
One thing to note is whether resistive screens vs capacitive screen actually will bring down the cost of the device.
The responsiveness of the screen is one aspect of productivity that you will try to live with, but will, eventually piss you off so much that you will switch to another phone. Personally, some phone’s screen responsiveness such as the Omnia II really kill my interest to use it as a main phone or Life Organizer. Windows Mobile Latency, mediocre processor and memory leaks all cause Omnia II to give a bad user experience despite the big screen size.
Here is a video from Android Central showing the HTC Tattoo striped and still functioning.
