Google Contacts is one contacts organizer that i like using since it syncs with Android, iPhone, Blackberry or Windows Mobile.

But what happens when you have duplicated contacts in your address book? you would need to scan through then or do a search to identify which are the contacts with same email address.

Google contacts have come up with a way to sort this out.

To clean up your contact list in one fell swoop, just click the “Find duplicates” button in the contact manager, review the merge suggestions (and uncheck any suggestions you don’t want merged), and hit the “Merge” button.

[One button to merge all duplicated contacts >>]

Well this is a real surprise! LifeRocks brings this really good find of a software that enables you to backup and manage your GSM phones contact list.

When i say GSM phones, i think this will appeal to those handset that are not smartphones or do not have a strong network such as Windows Mobile, iPhone iPod Touch, Symbian and Android.

I haven’t really try it although i would love to but to interface with this software you need to at least have a bluetooth enable phone or serial cable, which i don’t on my super old samsung phone!

Anyway this is good if it works, cause it enables you to synchronize with Windows Live Contacts and Google Contacts. I view syncing to Google Contacts to be important since it is a relatively open standard and i am trying to make it my defecto contact list.

Other functionality are as follows:

Works in any GSM phone with chip

100% with AT Commands

Accepts and maintains data from several cell isolation

Custom configuration for each cell

Synchronization

Windows Live Contacts

Google Contacts

SMS Manager

Simultaneous Transmission of SMS (text format)

Delivery reports of SMS

Monitoring

Battery

Signal Quality

phonebook in Telephone / Chip

SMS Received / Sent / Not Sent

Incoming Call

Synchronization of Date / Time PC

Backup and Restore the phonebook

Alarm Management

Call Console

Registration of Carriers

Installs in TrayIcon

Do give it a try and tell me if it works!

This is part of my current productivity setup. Everyone wishes that they are able to check their calendars and i feel this is a an important part of your productivity and GTD setup.

Therefore my setup is to synchronize my ipod touch’s calendar and contacts with google calendar and contacts.

That means that on desktop i can check it on my 19″ or 10″ screen and on the go, without internet connection i check it on my ipod touch.

The same goes for my contacts. Google tends to be the most open standard.

However, that is not the end of the story as it only sync one calendar and chances are you have numerous calendar. What you need to do is to configure @ m.google.com/sync to set up which calendar to sync.

Thanks to Download Squad here, I don’t have to explain that much. Do note that if you want to sync to gmail this does not do it.You will need a separate sync option under your iphone or ipod touch to do that. So that means you have one sync profile for your contacts, calendar and one for your gmail.

As it turns out, it is possible to subscribe to sub-calendars, but it’s not immediately obvious how to do so. The same holds true on the iPhone.

If you’ve attempted to synchronize your Google Calendar to your iPhone only to be disappointed that it only allows you to synchronize one calendar, you’ll be happy to discover that although it’s somewhat hidden, there is a way to synchronize multiple calendars.

Once you configure your iPhone to synchronize with your Google account using your phone’s Exchange functionality, you should have your contacts and primary calendar items synchronizing. To then choose what other calendars to display, use the instructions given on this page. They will instruct you to visit m.google.com/sync on your phone, which gives you the option to set some sync settings.
